Reception and visitors
Plan how visitors announce themselves, who authorises entry and which areas they can reach. Consider clear intercom audio, accessible entry and supervision when reception is busy.
Education
CCTV, controlled entry and supporting infrastructure planned around pupils, staff, visitors and the way your buildings are used.
A school has different access needs during arrival, lessons, lettings and the holidays. A useful design begins with those routines and the people responsible for managing them.
AD Systems' published education work includes St Kentigerns School. For a new project, agree the scope with the premises, leadership and IT teams so responsibilities are clear.

Define access by role, building and time. Lettings, contractors and holiday working need their own arrangements, including who removes permissions when someone leaves.
Choose camera views around a clear purpose and the detail needed at each location. Assess lighting, vehicle movements and obstructions at busy arrival and departure times.
Keep adding users, cancelling lost fobs and reviewing incidents manageable for authorised staff. Agree the training, documentation and support needed at handover.
Before the survey
Share the building types, priority entrances, existing platforms and operational problem. We can then identify what needs checking on site before equipment is selected.
Request a free initial designDoor security must be considered alongside fire strategy, accessibility and emergency-release requirements. Agree specialist input where needed before changing a lock or door-control arrangement.
Agree the purpose of each view, who can use recordings and how requests are handled. The school's responsible team should review its privacy arrangements before introducing new monitoring or analytics.
Identify working areas, safeguarding arrangements, supervision, noisy work and change windows in the project plan. Consider a phased upgrade where suitable existing equipment can be retained.
Agree who checks recording health, updates users and reports faults. Keep a system inventory and a clear support route so a change of staff does not leave the system unmanaged.
